Sketchbook plans

These pen and pencil sketches show a little bit of the process involved in the initial planning stage, as well as the manufacturing process. Not only are these important for visualizing how the work will take shape and addressing logistical challenges ahead of time, but they help explain my ideas to others when I'm seeking technical advice. In the case of this project, I required the technical knowledge of a lot of people!

My dependence on the drawing process to work out ideas illustrates how my practice is primarily based in drawing and creating new contexts in which to experience drawings.
